Soybeans. They are a natural, renewable source for all kinds of things. The soy wax we use at Porch Light Candle Company is 100% soy. No other waxes are blended with it, and it is sourced right here in the Midwest. From the very beginning I wanted to use soy wax to make quality candles and wax melts. Let me share a few facts for why.
- It is biodegradeable and cleans up with plain ol’ soap and water.
- Soy has a lower melting point than paraffin. Our candles will burn slower or longer than paraffin. What a bargain! Our 9 oz. tumbler candle will burn between 30-35 hours!
- Soy will burn with zero petro soot. Paraffin is a petroleum product. Therefore, when burned it emits those chemicals into your home. You know that black soot that clings to your walls? Paraffin. You will never see that with a soy candle.
- 100% soy wax is a vegan product.
Our candles are paired with cotton and paper wicks. A lot of wicks are zinc-cored and those often burn smoky.
The fragrances we use are also sourced in the Midwest from a small family-owned company and are toxic-free. The smell they infuse in the air generally won’t bother children or pets. And they are the most true fragrances we’ve ever found.
